WWE Divas
The WWE Divas are some of the sexiest women on the planet today, and also some of the most athletic entertainers. The latest divas include Candice Michelle, Torrie Wilson, Melina Perez, Maria Kanellis, Victoria, Jillian Hall and Beth Phoenix. These women work just as hard in the ring as their male counterparts at WWE and always make for an exciting show.
Over the years, women have provided valet-ringside managerial services for the male wrestlers. Two of the earliest and best examples are Miss Elizabeth and Sensational Sherri Martel. Trish Stratus and Terri Runnels also came along to be managers, and eventually turned into wrestlers. There's been a long line of WWE divas, and they often compete for the famous WWE Women’s Title. It's also spawned a yearly contest called the "WWE Diva Search", where hopeful contestants compete to become the next diva in the WWE Wrestling.
Famous WWE Divas: Trish Stratus
Trish Stratus is a former fitness model who entered the WWE in March of 2000. At this time she was simply scouting WWE wrestlers as they competed in the ring. She eventually took on a managerial role and began to escort the tag team "T&A" to the ring.
Trish won the WWE Women's Championship belt for her first time at Survivor Series in late 2001. During her time with WWE from 2000 through 2006 Trish won the belt a total of 7 times, the most of any diva in WWE history.
Trish has been named Woman of the Year by Pro Wrestling Illustrated in four different years. She also won the WWE Hardcore championship once and was named WWE Diva of the Decade. Trish recently appeared on an episode of WWE Raw in December 2007 to commemorate the 15 Year anniversary for the show. She received favorable crowd support as she entered the ring. With all her accomplishments, skill, personality and beauty, it's no wonder that Trish Stratus is easily one of the most popular WWE Divas in wrestling history.
WWE Divas - Are there any divas left that can actually wrestle?
The WWE suffered a big loss with the departure of WWE Diva Trish Stratus. Trish Stratus, without a doubt, was an icon in the world of women's wrestling. Trish was arguably the best female wrestler to ever grace the squared circle. Now with Trish Stratus removed from the WWE, there are only a handful of decent female wrestlers left. Amy Dumas aka Lita is one of them wrestlers.
In TNA, it is believed Gail Kim is the only decent female wrestler in the company. Unfortunately, for the most part, Gail has been limited to being a manager. In the WWE there are WWE Divas Victoria, Mickie James, and perhaps Jillian Hall. Victoria has so much wrestling ability. Even Beth Pheonix is a really hard worker, and potentially a great wrestler. I also hear the same of Melina Perez.
